An International Symposium on “Theological Foundations and Pastoral Implications of Pallottine Charism” was held at Prabodhana, Mysore, from 24th – 28th of June, in order to delve deeper into the understanding of our Charism. It was a common search by various members of the Union, for a deeper understanding of the Pallottine Charism, and how it could be realized in our present-day context. The presence of Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, the Rector General, Rev. Fr. Martin Manus, General Consultor, Rt. Rev. Seamus Freeman, Bishop of Ossory Ireland and the former Rector General, along with over a hundred other participants, including Provincials, Regional Superiors, Delegate Superiors, Theology Professors, Sisters, Fathers, Brothers and Lay People from different parts of the globe, underlined the importance and significance of this event. The theological foundations were examined and the pastoral implications were spelt out. Pallotti Institute, which will be a research centre on Pallotti, was inaugurated on this occasion.
